"Continua" is a bagging system for free-flowing and semi-free-flowing bulk products. The system can make cushion or gussetted bags from tubular film that is wound around a reel. Bag length, which can be varied even while the machine is running, is determined with millimetric precision, whereas in the case of registered printed film, bag length is determined by means of a photocell.

  • Bag formation is accomplished by heatsealing the bag bottom, unwinding the tubular film and cutting it according to the required lenght. The seal is then cooled in order to ensure that it is resistant enough to withstand the impact of the product on the bag bottom during the discharge phase.
  • Filling takes place by transferring the bag horizontally from the bag-forming station to the discharge mouth, where the bag then receives the previously weighed product.
  • Sealing of the bag mouth takes place, again, by transferring the bag horizontally from the filling station to the top sealing station. The result is a squared-off bag that is now ready to be palletised.

One of the important safety features offered by Continua is that access to its operational units is protected by see-through guides. Thanks to these window-type protective devices, the machine can be monitored visually during operation. As soon as one of the guards is opened, the machine shuts down imediately and an error signal is shown on the display panel.

Options:

  • Servo-assisted reel-changing system.
  • Micro-perforation unit for venting the tubular film to eliminate air from the bag.
  • Ink-jet unit for marking alphanumeric characters on one or both sides of the tubular film.
  • Forty-five degree top & bottom corner sealing of gusseted bags. This makes the seal more resistant and squares the filled bags, making the palletised unit more stable.
  • Automatic PLC controlled system for advancing the Teflon film protecting the sealing bars.
  • Electronic weighing system with diversified feed system depending on the product to be bagged.
  • Dosing devices for very free-flowing granular products.
  • Traverse device so that the machine can be interlocked with more than one discharge mouth (silo) and process various types of products.
